Rob Runyan works in public affairs for the National Democratic Institute and occasionally practices journalism as a freelancer covering politics and public policy. He received his master's degree at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.

He covered legal issues, elections and youth engagement in Medill's bureaus in Chicago and Washington, D.C. Rob also wrote about environmetal issues in the 2008 election as one of Medill's 10 Carnegie/Knight News21 Fellows.

He hails from Detroit, Mich., but now lives in Washington, D.C.
